- connecting Harvard and
Australia
in science research
This successful program, funded
by Harvard Club of Australia
Foundation, is now accepting applications for calendar 2011.
Deadline for
applications is 20 September 2010.
Successful
applicants will be notified by end-December 2010.
HCA
Foundation started the program in 2005 and,
to date, has awarded twenty-eight Fellowships. They appeal to
mid-career and
senior Harvard-based science and technology researchers intending
collaborative
projects in Australia.
The
Fellowships are tenable at eligible Australian institutions.
These include all of the nation’s universities and most prominent
research
centres. A working visit of several months is normally envisaged,
during which
Fellows are encouraged to interact additionally with educators and
students in
their vicinity. Two new options are available to senior
applicants. One is
a shorter visit
so as to take a primary role in a workshop, seminar or instructional
course,
particularly if open to numbers of Australians seeking to further their
knowledge in the applicant’s specialized field. Another option is the
opportunity to undertake longer studies, for example, of sabbatical
duration.
A one-page
PDF here (“Application”)
sets out some guidelines for successful applications. It also defines
who is
eligible, what the Fellowship covers, and what to include in your
straight-forward online submission.

and Harvard research groups and
